Creek View Complex

\Our exciting mixed-use development on Creek View Road features three new structures. They include a spacious restaurant, a community theater and a versatile professional office building.

The 4,800 square foot restaurant space, available for lease, features an outdoor dining patio with views of White Clay Creek. This restaurant will benefit from the influx of new residents, professionals, and theatergoers that the complex will bring.

Upon its completion, the brand new theater facility will be the new home to Chapel Street Players and will provide them with a beautiful venue just north of their current location while also allowing for their patrons to have access to free on-site parking.

The new professional building offers a 3-story, 31,000 SF office space meticulously designed to cater to the diverse needs of businesses. This modern facility promises versatility and functionality, providing a premier workspace for discerning professionals.  Construction has been completed on his facility and it is currently about 75% occupied.

In addition to the new buildings, 500 Creek View will be remodeled into a well-appointed residential building that will feature 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. 532 Old Barksdale Road

Situated on a 1.3-acre property, construction has commenced on a five-story structure which will revitalize the area.

At the heart of the project is the construction of a contemporary building featuring parking facilities on the ground floor and 54 well-appointed 2-bedroom apartments spanning the upper levels.  The project will play a pivotal role in enhancing the area due to its appealing design and the introduction of some much-needed green space to an otherwise industrial landscape.

Lang’s commitment to environmental aesthetics include lush greenery through tree planting initiatives, flower beds, and expanses of grass.  Moreover, in compliance with city regulations, the project includes the installation of a fence to deter trespassing onto the nearby railroad tracks and a brownfield remediation agreement with environmental authorities.

As the project moves forward, it aligns with broader efforts to revitalize the community and pave the way for further enhancements in the surrounding vicinity.

25 North Chapel Street

Lang Development Group is proud to announce the unanimous approval of our redevelopment project at 25 North Chapel. This transformative project boasts the introduction of a four-story, 8,100 square foot building set to redefine the landscape of the area.

Offering a harmonious blend of functionality and modern design, the building’s first floor will house a convenient parking garage and inviting lobby, while the three upper levels will offer a total of 21 meticulously-crafted two-bedroom apartments. The project incorporates a 10-space parking waiver, optimizing space utilization without compromising on convenience.

A significant aspect of this redevelopment initiative involves the replacement of the Chapel Street Playhouse and an adjacent duplex, marking a strategic transition toward revitalizing the locale. This strategic move is part of a broader land swap arrangement, facilitating the relocation of the Chapel Street Players to a new venue on Creek View Road. The forthcoming venue promises enhanced amenities, including increased seating capacity, improved handicap accessibility, and ample free parking for patrons.

The Village at Twin Lakes Townhomes

Construction is under way for our latest addition to the already-established Village at Twin Lakes: twenty-four meticulously crafted 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhome-style apartments.

Each home will offer an open-concept spacious sanctuary. With three bedrooms and 2.5 baths, they offer ample space for the whole family.  Also included are the convenience of second-floor laundry as well an attached garage.

At The Village at Twin Lakes, residents will discover natural beauty with two serene ponds and a picturesque walking path, yet the location still provides easy access to major highways and shopping.

30 South Chapel Street

We’re thrilled to share our plans for two dynamic five-story apartment buildings set to transform the landscape of 30 South Chapel Street, the former Burger King site.  Our proposal for this landmark building reflects our commitment to revitalizing downtown Newark, bringing new energy and vitality to the area.

Situated on a prime 1.35-acre property, this project will offer 80 beautifully appointed two-bedroom apartments across both buildings. The ground level will feature 87  parking spaces as well as 3,448 SF of commercial space and an outdoor plaza, enriching the neighborhood with a mix of residential and commercial amenities.

With unanimous support from the planning commission and positive feedback from community leaders, including Commissioner Alan Silverman, our project has been praised for its appropriateness and potential to positively impact the area.

As we move forward with this exciting endeavor, Lang Development Group remains dedicated to responsible urban development, ensuring that our project aligns with the needs and vision of the community. We’re excited to be part of the ongoing transformation of downtown Newark and look forward to creating a vibrant and thriving space for residents and visitors alike.

A large tree on the property, believed to be at least 150 years old, will be preserved.

318 South College Avenue

Formerly the home of the Press of Kells, 318 South College Avenue is undergoing an exciting transformation. This historic site will soon offer an impressive mix of modern construction and preserved history.

The original two-story structure, approximately 2,545 square feet, dates back to the early 1900s. It has served multiple community purposes over the years, housing organizations like the YWCA, the Jewish Community Center, and Castle Sports. The building’s charm and historical significance will be preserved in this redevelopment.

A brand-new, two-story addition will complement the existing structure, adding 20,000 square feet (10,000 SF per floor) of modern space. The building is designed with a smaller footprint and a BL zoning designation, making it ideal for medical practitioners seeking to serve Newark’s residents.

With 80 parking spaces the site offers convenient parking for both employees and visitors.

In keeping with the city’s vision for more sustainable urban development, new trees and bushes will be added to the property to increase green space. This landscaping will soften the curb appeal and create a more welcoming environment.

318 South College Avenue has long been a key part of the city’s fabric. Its revitalization continues to honor its legacy while meeting the demands of today’s residents.
